Doggystars!

Today's doggystar will be Betoven! Betoven is a dog that has starred in many movies! This saint bernard has had many marvelous adventures such as having the pups! He got chased by an evil little lady, almost got denied by his family and is "married!" These hilarious movies are great family fun filled feature films (F.F.F.F.F). These movies usually appear on Disney Channel so make sure to keep an eye out for them. Betoven is married to Missy and they have he pups. I'm pretty sure there are 6 pups and they all grow huge!! You don't want to miss these F.F.F.F.F movies!

Hello, all! I am proud to announce that Emma has won the silliest dog competition. Again, she was the only one who entered but remember to participate!! Her little dog Momo was in the picture "driving the car!" You can see the picture on my sidebar or just look at it on this post. It's hilarious! Our next contest is a guessing game. There is no right answer. Now, I know maybe some of you might not be interested but give it a shot! I'll give you three hints about a dog and you'll have to try to guess what the dog is. Here are your hints:

1. I am small
2. I usually star in movies
3. People sometimes stereotype me and say that I shiver

WHO AM I?

Try to guess!

Doggystars!

Today's doggystar (or should I say doggystars) are the Buddies! They have starred in three movies so far and now they're on their fourth! The fourth is called Santa Buddies! In this new movie the Buddies travel to the North Pole and wind up in Santa's workshop! This new movie is a big doggy hit! The first movie even before the Buddies was an awesome movie called Air Bud. This movie is about an amazing dog that helped a volleyball team that stunk, get their A game on! The dog actually played volleyball! The main star in this movie was a Golden Retriever named Buddy. He's the father of the Buddies! Buddy meets Molly and goes head over heels for her. Then, they have the Buddies and that's where the fun begins! The Buddies' first movie was air buddies. Then, Space Buddies and Snow Buddies! These are all awesome movies and I think you should totally check them out!

Now, let's zoom in on the cast (a.k.a the dogs). First we have Rosebud who is the only girl retriever in the Buddies group. Then there is Budderball who is quite large and LOVES FOOD. After that, is Buddha who is a dog that loves to meditate and loves peace. Next is Mudbud and I bet you can guess what he likes doing---okay, I'll tell you. Mud---dirt---really anything he can get dirty with! Last but not least is B-dawg, a dg dog who's in the house! There's the cast for you.

These movies are pretty great and I love the ideas of the movies. They're so creative! Anyways, check these out!

Thanks for reading today's The Daily Dog! Today our Daily Dog will be an amazing helper dog named Odie. This is some info about him:

"Odie is a special Golden Retriever donated by a local family who had kept him in the garage and no longer wanted him. We happened to know a little girl who needed him. Odie is a skilled companion and "control factor" to keep his girl safe from consequences that she cannot understand."

The Daily Dog!

FAITH will be the star of our Daily Dog today! Faith is so amazing because she is a dog who was born with her legs kind of whacky so she had to get them cut off. After she got them cut off, she was dragging herself around on the floor. A lot of veterinarians said that dragging herself around could cause a hole in her chest and they had to do something about it. What they did was sit Faith upright and put peanut butter on a spoon. Faith's addiction to peanut butter made her get up on her hind legs and lick the peanut butter. The owners of Faith practiced for a while. After a while, Faith's addiction over came her and she did a little hop on her hind legs to get to the peanut butter. At that moment, the owners knew that she wanted to walk. Many years past and Faith was a pro at hopping round. Now, she actually can WALK like a human and RUN like a human. This little dog was born with no power but has a lot of FAITH.

Arctic Foxes!

Hi Everyone! I just changed my blog to a canine blog so now I will be posting about Arctic Foxes, Hyenas and so on along with the pet kind of dogs. I'll switch off each day with a wild canine and a pet dog. Thanks for reading this message!

~Annabel

Anyways, Arctic Foxes are so awesome so why don't you have a look at some facts about them!

#1. "This fox is found in the far north, mainly in the Arctic Circle. (Northern parts of Alaska and the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, on Iceland, Northern Russia, and on the coast of Greenland.)"
#2. "The Arctic fox lives in a den or burrow dug into the side of a hill, cliff or riverbank. The den has more than one entrance. In winter it may tunnel into a snowbank."
#3. "The Arctic fox is well adapted to live in the cold Arctic."
#4. "In winter its thick, bushy coat turns white. This makes it very hard to see the fox. The prey is not able to spot the Arctic fox until it is too late."
#5. "Because of its thick coat, it is able to survive in freezing cold temperatures. Thick hair on the pads of their feet protects their feet from freezing and help them walk on the ice. The Arctic fox can walk on ice without slipping. It uses ice floes to travel of food in the winter."
#6. "It can curl up in the snow and cover its nose and face with its bushy tail to keep warm."
#7. "In the summer, the fox will hide food in its den or under rocks. This is how it stores food for later use."
#8. "The Arctic fox is small (about the same size as a large cat) with short legs and short rounded furry ears."
#9. "The bushy tail is about 30 cm. long."
#10. "Its thick fur coat makes it look much larger than it really is. When the snow starts to melt, the fox sheds its winter coat for a thinner greyish-brown coat. Near the end of the summer the Arctic fox begins to grow a thicker coat again. The color of the fur turns grey and then white. The oily fur sheds water and helps to keep the fox dry."
#11. The average litter is 11 pups (or whelps)."
#12. "The babies are born in a den or burrow in late spring. A baby fox is the size of a kitten. Both parents take care of the blind pups. At two weeks of age they open their eyes. At three weeks they go outside and begin to explore."
#13. "To feed a litter of ten the parents must kill about 30 lemmings a day. When their family is almost grown, the parents feed them over 100 lemmings a day! The young foxes are taught how to hunt and are independent by fall."
#14. "They prey on voles, lemmings, hares, ground squirrels, birds and birds' eggs. Foxes living near the coast feed on shellfish, sea urchins and other shore animals. They check the shoreline for dead seals, whales and dead fish. When meat is not available the Arctic fox eats fruit and berries. The Arctic fox will even kill baby seals if the fox can find the seal's den in the snow."
#15. "Polar bears kill Arctic foxes. Trappers want them for their beautiful fur coats."
